The Very Busy Spider
It’s another week so it must be time for another Eric Carle story. This week we are focussing our learning on the story, ‘The Very Busy Spider.’ We have been matching animals, identifying animal noises and practising carefully counting animals. Well done everyone. ????????
Splish, splash, it’s so hot!
What a hot start to the week! This afternoon we have spent splashing and paddling in the water and what a great way to cool down! Well done everyone for being so safe around the water, following verbal instructions from the adults.
Fine Motor Easter Eggs
This morning we have created some Easter eggs - magically!!! Using our fingers to move the paint around on the egg without getting paint on our hands. It was really interesting to see the children at first be apprehensive around touching the bag but once they knew the paint wouldn’t get on their…
Fashion Show
Jack proudly represented 1A this afternoon in the Fashion Show. We all worked together to make an Easter egg top out of cardboard and pieces of scrap material. Jack chose to wear his headband that we made in class yesterday.
Choosing stories
Today’s choice the children had to make was which story we would be sharing at circle time. It was a tricky choice for some as it was a choice between two firm favourites - The Gingerbread Man and We’re going on a Bear Hunt.
Crispy cakes
This afternoon, we worked together to make some crispy cakes. We used key words such as mix, pour and scoop whilst making them. Most of the cakes didn't make it to the fridge to set as we were all too eager to eat them.
Chick, chick, chick, chick, chicken
This morning we have had lots of fun making chicken hats! We love the individuality and creativity of all of the children and the huge smiles on your faces is even better

Star of the week
Charlie is 1A’s star this week for positively engaging with our Eco activities, identifying the recycle symbol on various household products. Amazing work Charlie.
Caterpillars - long and short
We explored making long and short caterpillars this morning using playdough. The children were able to listen and use the key vocabulary long and short to describe the caterpillars.
1A can identify the recycle logo
1A have been identifying the recycle logo from a range of different logos and then we have been looking for the recycle logo on a range of packaging. The children have been verbally saying the word ‘recycle’ when looking at the logo. Well done everyone.
