Extended Day Provision

Our extended day provision supports PCA’s overarching aims of developing resilient individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens. We offer a varied programme of extra-curricular activities designed to enrich pupils’ experiences, develop new skills and promote positive relationships, health and wellbeing.

After-school clubs take place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and are delivered by our HLTAs, with a different range of activities available for pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. The Oracle also offers pupils access to a dedicated health, fitness and wellbeing club.

Our clubs include boys’ and girls’ football, multi-skills, gardening, film, sensory activities, stay and play, hair and beauty, and wellbeing. The programme is further enhanced through partnerships with external organisations, including Blackpool Community Trust and Active Blackpool.

Pupil voice is central to shaping our offer, alongside feedback from parents and carers gathered through the annual review process. This helps ensure that activities reflect pupils’ interests, needs and aspirations.

Our extended provision also includes staff supporting BASSO, a community brass band based at PCA on Tuesday evenings, bringing together pupils and young people from across Blackpool. In addition, we provide a breakfast club to support families who may benefit from additional help at the start of the school day.

Throughout lunchtime, pupils can also access a range of sporting activities, including football and multi-sports, providing further opportunities to be active, develop skills and enjoy positive social experiences.
