At PCA we believe providing pupils with engaging and relevant experiences within
our Performing Arts provision will help enable them to develop the necessary life
skills to become resilient individuals, responsible citizens and successful learners.
We aim to provide all our pupils with a rich and diverse range of opportunities from
singing in the school choir, performing in the summer production to leading a whole
school assembly. We feel key values such as embracing individuality, self-
expression and creativity underpins our curriculum and extra curriculum activities.
The school of our commitment to this area of school life. We are currently on our
second Artsmark journey as we have started the re-application process.
Within our teaching staff we have two specialist music and drama teachers who
delivery the curriculum across all Key Stages within our dedicated performing arts
block in school which houses an art room and a fully equipped dance/drama studio.
We welcome the opportunity to work alongside cultural partners and actively seek to
develop these within our local community.
Throughout the academic year pupils get the opportunity to take part in a number of
extra-curricular and enrichment activities. These include the Christmas and summer
productions, Ribby Hall music festival, Schools Alive, Blackpool Dance festival, PCA
talent show, Penwortham music festival and watching live performances. The school
is dedicated and passionate about providing all our pupils with the capital culture
opportunities which will help them reach their full potential both academically and
socially.
