1H 2023-2024

Today we learnt all about Chinese New Year. We learnt about the different animals in the Chinese calendar and found out what year we were born in. Then we tried some different Chinese food. It was very yummy.

Today, in Maths, we looked at the number 20. We played some games around the number 20 and then had a challenge to see how many ways we could make the number 20 using numicon. 

Last week, in DT, we designed our own tea light holders. Today we began the process of making them. We rolled the dough and chose our cutter. We can’t wait to paint them next week. 

This week, we put our new skills from the past few weeks to the test. We followed a sequence of trampoline, hopscotch and finished with our throwing. 

Today, in PE, we learnt how to play hopscotch. We really enjoyed jumping through the pattern.

After talking about lots of different weather types over the past few weeks, today we made a painting to look like the rain. 

This morning, it was very wet outside so to burn off some energy we went to the bouncy room. We loved playing together. 

After assembly we played some team games to build resilience. We loved watching the monkeys fall and the funny face shoot everywhere.

In PE, this afternoon, we practised jumping. We looked at how we need to keep our feet together, bend our knees and push into the floor. 

In maths today we looked at the number 10. We made ten in lots of different ways and looked at different patterns we noticed. 

We all enjoyed having a snow ball fight on the MUGA too.
