Sensory farm explorers
Continuing with our farm theme and where food comes from in Topic, 2K have a farm themed tray where they scrunch, crunch and snap and get those fingers working.
They have had fun breaking up the spaghetti and noodles and shaping the rice.
We love it when everyone gets excited and involved.

We are discovering arable and pastoral farming and how they have changed over time.

Farm to fork
Our new subject in Topic is all about food.
We are going to be learning where food comes from.
We have been experiencing different foods by tasting, looking at and smelling them.
We tried honey, yoghurt, popcorn and meringue as well as many other foods.

Making Roman shields
Last term 2K studied the Romans.
During Topic and Art lessons they learned the importance of the symbols and colours the Romans used and transferred this learning in to their designs when they created their own shield to take in to battle.

Roman potters
2K have started their pottery journey.
We had a great afternoon moulding the clay into the shape of a pot.
Now we are letting them dry before Mr Miller fires them in the kiln then we can glaze them.

Dress like a Roman
As part of our Topic lesson, 2K are learning about jobs Romans had and how they used to dress.
After choosing their own Roman name and creating a passport, 2K had fun choosing a toga and posing for their passport photo.

2K have been coronated
2K have been learning all about the monarchy.
To experience what happens when a new royal is crowned, all the pupils in 2K were officially coronated and then created a new rule each.
