1A 2024-2025

Today we have been finding ‘b’ amongst other sounds that we already know. It was fantastic to see some of the children writing their own letter ‘b’. Well done everyone. Great sounding out again today. 

This week we are exploring the river scene from our story. This morning we moved the small world characters through the deep, cold river with a splash, splosh. Some of the children said that the water was really cold.

This week in phonics we are focussing on the ‘b’ sound. Today, the children have been identifying lots of objects that begin with the ‘b’ sound. We are working really hard at making the ‘b’ sound correctly with our mouths. Well done everyone. 

Oliver is 1A’s star of the week this week and he achieved this for independently choosing and focussing on an activity for an extended period of time. Well done Oliver. 

The children in 1A are absolutely loving sitting and listening to the story, ‘We’re going on a bear hunt.’ Our new routine is sitting together for snack and listening to a story. The children are getting really good at sitting, looking and listening which is fantastic.

1A have blown me away with their fantastic knowledge of patterns. We are creating our own simple repeating patterns using colour and we are matching different patterns together. Great job everyone - Miss Brown

Since returning to school after Christmas, we have worked really hard at consolidating what we already know. The children are fantastic at identifying the names of each letter but sometimes remembering what sound those letters make can be tricky. We are super quick now at identifying the sounds…

It was so wonderful to welcome all of the children back into school today. I think they appreciated getting back to their usual routines. We had so much fantastic learning going on. Here’s to the next 6 weeks of fabulous things to come. ⭐️

Miss Brown, Miss Erwin and Mr Murphy would like to wish all of the children and their families a wonderful Christmas and a very happy New Year. Corah is our star of the week this week for fantastic independent over copying of her name inside her Christmas Card. Well done Corah ⭐️

The children absolutely loved dancing and using the bells to move along to a range of Christmas songs. It was extremely loud in our class but it was so much fun.
