Burning colour changing chemicals
As it was bonfire night last night, class 4J discussed fireworks and how they work. In their science lesson today we have been burning spills soaked in different chemicals, we looked at which type of chemical burns which colour and why. Well done 4J!
Functional Maths
5B were set a challenge in Maths today, to put these numbers in the right set & order them from 1-3.
Whittling sticks
Our last Forest school lesson consisted of whittling sticks. We used potato peelers to whittle the sticks and make them smooth. After all the sticks were whittled, we polished them with wood varnish.
The Norman Conquest
3R are really enjoying learning about the Norman Conquest. Today they focused on Harold Godwinson and learnt many interesting facts, such as his brother Tostig was on the other team.
5J maths
In our maths lesson this week we have started to learn about the origins of maths and numbers.
We looked at how fingers were used to begin with, before moving onto Roman numerals and our current numbers that are Arabic in origin.

Bonfire night
This morning, we learnt all about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot. Then we made our very own firework picture. We really enjoyed mixing the colours.
