Sensory room
Today in 1P for phonics we went to the sensory room!
We looked at our phonics sounds and put our phonics songs on the whiteboard, We matched the lights to the colours in our songs.
We all loved spending time in the sensory room.
Pancake day
In DT/RE we learnt all about Pancake day and Shrove Tuesday. We then mixed, poured, measured and fried pancakes. We especially enjoyed eating them!
Let’s measure with cubes!
In maths, we have been learning all about measuring height and length. Today we used non-standard units of measurement to measure things around class. We discovered the cup and rubber was the shortest, and the table was the tallest.
Healthy meals
This week in PHSE, we have looked into Healthy eating. We all created a healthy meal which included carbohydrates, protein, vegetables and dairy.
We built a prototype
It is our second week of learning about engineers and this week the pupils worked as they did in San Francisco, with the Golden Gate Bridge. They worked together to build a brilliant prototype which head cars.
If I was an engineer, what would you do?
This morning, 5I have started their ‘if I was an engineer, what would you do?’ project. They have researched what an engineer does, and then discussed problems that have noticed/have in their everyday life.
Preparation for performances
4M have been looking at different genres of Music & what suits them best as a performer. They have had a choice over instruments or using their voice as well as learning key skills for working as part of a team.
Looking into Hearts !
Today during STEM 3B looked into how our hearts work. We used Stethoscopes to listen to each others heartbeats and Mrs Whitworth even brought in a real Lamb heart that everyone got to look at and hold !
Tag rugby
We’re exploring the rules of rugby in PE. The game was a close call, but team leader Robbie stole the it with a late tag & exceptional performance.
