BTEC cooking
As part of our BTEC qualification, we’ve started cooking some of the meals we’ll be preparing independently to gain Level 1 status. 4M love trying out new recipes and trying new foods, bonus points if they’re tasty and healthy.
Deep, cold river! Splash, Splosh
This week we are exploring the river scene from our story. This morning we moved the small world characters through the deep, cold river with a splash, splosh. Some of the children said that the water was really cold.
Sound of the week - ‘b’
This week in phonics we are focussing on the ‘b’ sound. Today, the children have been identifying lots of objects that begin with the ‘b’ sound. We are working really hard at making the ‘b’ sound correctly with our mouths. Well done everyone.
The Prodigal Son
Today in RE we have looked into the story of The Prodigal Son. We retold the story by sequencing pictures to the correct order!
Careers
Clare from the job centre has visited 6th form to talk to the students about skills for jobs. Today we were learning about teamwork one of the tasks was to work together to build a tower out of marshmallows ,straws and cocktail stick.

Miss miller introduced our new sound u today, we sang songs and had great fun standing under the umbrella! Then we had a go at writing the sound ☺️
Monday Morning Fitness
It can be tough to get going on a Monday morning, but not for the mighty 5M, we have been getting our bodies moving and our minds focused for the day ahead with an early morning fitness session! Well done 5M!
RE
In RE today, 3H took part to in an activity to promote independent thinking. Pupils had to close their eyes without seeing others to answer questions, to allow them to have confidence in their own answers.
Big Schools Bird Watch
Our students have been taking part in the RSPB's Bird Watch, collecting data on the different types of Birds living in the local area. We will upload the data onto the RSPB's website which contributes to the Big Bird Watch UK census.
