Sports afternoon
Lemon dance company Mondays are our favourite way to start the week.
Out in the community
We went for a walk in our Oracle local community today. We headed to our local park to help with clearing & cleaning the community hut.
Dog training
Well done to the Oracle dog training group, who have undertaken 6 weeks of training from Natasha & Georgina from KRRs Dog training company. They are all able to command Mollys attention & for her to follow clear instructions.
Cooking club
Our students made some tasty treats in cooking club. We started with ham & cheese omelettes, we then followed instructions to make our favourite flavoured toasties, & then decorated our sponge cakes.
Sports
During sports we warmed up with agility exercises. These movements will help us use our full bodies when playing football.
Public Services
We have been out on the B&FC campus this morning using walkie-talkies. We spilt into two groups, & used the phonetic alphabet to describe number plates of cars parked, we included the colour & make.
Project Search
Project Search came into the Oracle to speak with Sixth form & Year 11 students on employability. It was lovely to see two of PCAs ex students present the offering to us & hear of their own experiences. Project Search helped them both find a job they love.
Reading for pleasure
All Oracle students are encouraged to read for pleasure at home & whilst at Sixth Form. All classes visit our local library every 2 weeks to exchange books & select a book of their choosing.
Maths
Anna has been investigating problems involving shape, length & perimeter.
Life skills
During life skills lesson & in preparation for adulthood we have been using different cleaning equipment. Students were able to pass on information to others with adult support as to how the equipment worked. Good job 5B!
Yummy food
Take a look at what our cooking group have made for their lunch today. Soda lemon bread, with tomatoes, garlic & basil. They also made toasties from the left over bread. Looks delicious.
Chocolate bar making
5J have been working hard on their BTEC qualification. They have made their own chocolate bars, complete with their own individual wrapping. We went to our local shop to see if our chocolate bars blended in. Can you tell the difference?
