Sixth Form 2023-2024

All Oracle students are encouraged to read for pleasure at home & whilst at Sixth Form. All classes visit our local library every 2 weeks to exchange books & select a book of their choosing. 

Anna has been investigating problems involving shape, length & perimeter. 

During life skills lesson & in preparation for adulthood we have been using different cleaning equipment. Students were able to pass on information to others with adult support as to how the equipment worked. Good job 5B! 

Mr S & 5J have been working on their tempo & articulation during Music Technology. Mr S brought his guitar to the Oracle so they could learn the song ‘stand by me’. 

Over the last few weeks 5I have been working towards their NCS certificates today they were presented with them. Well done 5I.

Today at Myerscough sixth form have been looking after the small reptiles. They have deep cleaned their haitats and weighed them. They also got to handle and weigh the guinea pigs and rabbits.

Take a look at what our cooking group have made for their lunch today. Soda lemon bread, with tomatoes, garlic & basil. They also made toasties from the left over bread. Looks delicious. 

5J have been working hard on their BTEC qualification. They have made their own chocolate bars, complete with their own individual wrapping. We went to our local shop to see if our chocolate bars blended in. Can you tell the difference? 

5I went out in to the local community today to find and explore textures. We used the cameras to capture our favourites. 

5B have had a round robin of jobs to undertake this morning. They have stripped beds & put new sheets on, cleaned tables & hoovered, sorted washing into piles & sorted food into cupboard or fridge piles. 

5B had a busy life skills lesson, they have been sanding & painting recycled wood to make raised flower beds for our Oracle garden. 

5I have been busy this morning making ice cream. They voted on their favourite flavour & added raspberry ribble to it for extra taste.
