Sixth Form 2023-2024

In today’s college session we learnt about famous female singers and worked on our collaborative work in the rehearsal rooms.
Well done KS5.

Yr 14 have been busy at the Oracle this morning. They have made sausage,bean and cheese pasties and egg,sausage and cheese omelettes for their lunch. They also cut up potatos to make wedges in the airfryer.

Today our ‘car bodywork’ group returned to Blackpool and the Fylde College to complete their course.  We had a recap and test on all the different tools we have used over the course of our placement. It is safe to say both students and staff have learnt a lot!

In maths this week we are looking at arrays. This helps us with our multiplication.

Well done to Thomas in 5J who completed his travel training course.

He has been working with the travel training team to be able to travel to and from college safely and independantly.

Top Work! 

Yr 14 made mince pies this morning to serve at their coffee afternoon. They invite parents and carers who sampled their mince pies and also recieved a recipe booklet with all the christmas recipes in that that the students have cooked over the last few weeks.

Take a look at Hannah & her amazing Brussels sprouts headband. 

Yr 14 have been making bubble and squeak using the left over vegetables from christmas dinner. Alex really enjoyed shaping the mashed vegetables into ball shapes, we then cooked them in the air fryer. Haydn said " they are awesome", Hannah said "they are delicious". Thomas wasnt sure but ate it…

 Mr Shanagher had a busy morning, cooking  breakfast for all the Oracle staff as a Christmas treat. 

We have undertaken our 2nd fitness test of the year, and most of our students fitness levels have improved. Well done guys. 

Today during our cooking session yr 14 have watched a demonstration of how to carve a chicken.
