Another fantastic week of football from the boys and another thrilling game!

After last week's draw and a controversial winning goal ruled out, we needed an impartial figure and someone to control 14 boys and 2 middle aged men who still think they’re Messi and Ronaldo. Leo, who was last week's Player of the Match, was keen to act as a referee for the game and after being handed a whistle and Mr Beckett’s cards, he was ready to go.

Both teams were evenly matched and unlike previous weeks, neither team was able to get a comfortable lead. Lucius opened the scoring after a minute for the Bibs before Cody equalised moments later. With Leo acting as referee, there was a few opportunities to test his authority. All in good nature and to add more fun to an enjoyable game, Mr Beckett and Lucius started to complain of fouls and that some of the boys needed to be dealt with, great lot of good that did as we both got shown a red card and sin binned for 3 minutes! Following the return of the jokers, the goals flooded in, Jaiden, Will, Gabe and Lucius got themselves on the score sheet for the Bibs, as did Cody, Ryan, Jordan and Jamie for the Non-Bibs for the game to be levelled at 5-5. As like every week, we love to play over the allocated time and we certainly had some eye watering moments at both ends of the pitch. A fantastic attacking display from Jaiden and brother Lucius, they teamed up to give the Bibs a goal advantage with minutes to spare. Leo was tested again and every credit to him as he stuck to his decision when awarding a penalty to the Non-Bibs. With no VAR installed on the the Mugga, Leo had to stick with his gut instinct that Jaiden had handled the ball inside the penalty area and awarded a penalty to the Non-Bibs. Composed as ever, Sharu rocketed the ball in to the top corner to bring the game level at 6-6. Restating from the goal keeper, Mr Moseley and his Bibs were hoping for a repeat of Manchester City's 2012 'AGUEROOOO' goal as he called next goal wins! Mr Moseley attempted to start a counter attack and soon wished he hadn’t as he rolled the ball out to Freddie who must have thought it was home time, as he allowed Mr Beckett to intercept the ball. Will, who had a fantastic game in defence, was unable to prevent Mr Beckett from crossing the ball into the box and after a goal mouth scramble the ball fell kindly for Ryan to riffled the ball into the back of the net for his very own 'AGUEROOOO' moment!

Non-Bibs 7 - 6 Bibs

Player of the Match: Again, a player from each side picked up the Player of the Match Award. For the Bibs, Will, who it was great to see back at football club and gave a no-nonsense display in defence winning every challenge! For the Non-Bibs, it was the match winner, Ryan. A versatile performance as he started the game in goals making some wonderful saves before scoring two, including that sublime winner!
