Paper straw challenge
3S were given a paper straw challenge this morning in design technology.
They had rules to follow:
It must be taller than a ruler
Can only use paper straws
Must be strong enough to hold an apple
They worked in teams to achieve the best tower to hold an apple.

4S design technology
In technology this week we made fans using a range of materials. We used saws to cut some wood into handles, folded the paper into fans and connected them using sellotape.

Making Roman shields
Last term 2K studied the Romans.
During Topic and Art lessons they learned the importance of the symbols and colours the Romans used and transferred this learning in to their designs when they created their own shield to take in to battle.

Roman potters
2K have started their pottery journey.
We had a great afternoon moulding the clay into the shape of a pot.
Now we are letting them dry before Mr Miller fires them in the kiln then we can glaze them.
