Wattle and daub
We explored clay and sticks in our second part of topic, looking at what they used in the stone ages to build huts and shelter.
Hunt for shelter
In topic, we learnt about shelter and how it was used in the Stone ages. We made our own den in class. We then hunted around school to keep ourselves sheltered from the rain to keep dry and warm!
Our story setting
Here is our final forest story settings! We will use adjectives to describe them.
Leaves and trees!
We added leaves, green tissue paper and lolly pop sticks for our forest!
Marbling backgrounds
We’ve made our background for our forest story setting, using shaving foam and food colouring. It will represent the sky and we lives the sensory swirls!
Our colourful emotions!
We listened to the story ‘The colour monster’ and met each emotion. We then sorted through photos of totter emotions and looked at our own in the mirror! How are you feeling today?
Story settings
In English, we are looking at different story settings. We went to the sensory room, to travel to different settings! We went to the farm, a castle, under the sea, a cave, a beach, a forest and into space.
Star and SCARF
Well done Chenar for being our star this week, recreating 5 speckled frogs on the xylophone and Logan being SCARF wearer, for achieving with his phonics!
Stone Age to Iron Age
We were introduced to the our new topic in the sensory room. We watched videos about the stone, bronze and iron ages and what life was like.
Logan’s homework!
Logan has completed his first piece of homework this term. He used sticks and his fingers to recreate cave paintings! They look amazing, well done Logan!
Squish!
We have enjoyed exploring our new tuff tray. We have worked our hand muscles to manipulate the play dough and use the different utensils to mark make!
