Our houses
In topic, we have been learning about what different houses look like and what we might find in a house. Ext week, we will look at Skara Brae and the houses found there.
Turn taking
We worked on our math skills of sorting the swords into colours, before using turn-taking to play fairly with our friends.
Adjective hunt
We hunted around school for things to match our adjectives, we learnt in our new song. We enjoyed running as fast as we could, making lots of noise to be loud and finding a little leaf!
Phonics
In phonics, we used our light up boards to practise our letter formation and making marks.
We’re feeling happy and calm
In PSHE we explored how music can make us feel. We danced whilst we were happy and rested whilst we were calm.
STEM cutting skills
In STEM, we worked on our cutting skills, looking at how to use scissors safely.
Drawing on the cave wall
We enjoyed recreating cave art, using the colours they used in the Stone ages!
Searching for cave art
We learnt about how people in the stone ages had to use fire to see in the dark caves. Today, we can use torches to help us see. We hunted and searched for cave art in the dark sensory room!
Star and SCARF of the week
Well done Amber for being our star for your beautiful forest story setting and Jacob for being SCARF resilient!
Birthday candles
In RE, we are learning about the importance of light. We looked at how candles are used to celebrate birthdays, before blowing them out and enjoying a tasty cake!
Wattle and daub
We explored clay and sticks in our second part of topic, looking at what they used in the stone ages to build huts and shelter.
Hunt for shelter
In topic, we learnt about shelter and how it was used in the Stone ages. We made our own den in class. We then hunted around school to keep ourselves sheltered from the rain to keep dry and warm!
