Today, the children enjoyed listening to the classic story of The Three Little Pigs. They were engaged throughout the story, joining in with familiar parts. This helped to develop their listening skills, imagination, and understanding of storytelling.
After the story, the children watched a simple video demonstrating how to draw a pig. They carefully followed the steps, observing the shapes and lines used to create the picture. This encouraged their concentration and visual learning skills.
The children were then invited to select a pink pen and use their mark-making skills to draw their own pigs. They showed great enthusiasm as they created circles, lines, and facial features, developing their fine motor control and pencil grip. Each child produced a unique pig drawing, demonstrating creativity and confidence in their early writing and drawing skills.
This activity supported children's literacy, communication, and physical development while providing a fun opportunity to connect a favourite story with a creative art experience. We were very proud of the children's efforts and the wonderful pig pictures they created. 🐷🎨📚
