In RE this week, we explored the Hindu concept of the Samsara Cycle and even went on our own “cycle” around the classroom. Pupils enjoyed a multi-sensory morning of discovery and fun! As we travelled through each stage, we discussed what it represented in Hindu belief and engaged with resources and music that brought the cycle to life. We wrapped ourselves in a soft blanket, wore the birthday hat and listened to happy birthday for ‘birth’, had a lively dance party with bubbles for ‘life’, explored dark materials with a slow drumbeat for ‘death’ and created wind-chime sounds to represent ‘Re-birth’ and change. Between each section we carefully balanced over stepping stones, giving us important vestibular input as we continued our journey through the Hindu Samsara Cycle.
