Students have been handling small animals safely, doing health checks and weighing them. This data was then put into a spreadsheet by Aaron so there is a weekly log.

Life Skills KS5 college group
Today we have been learning how to use the carpet cleaner. We discussed about how to use it safely then Mrs Irving demonstrated how to use the machine. The students took it in turns to have a go cleaning the carpet.
Car mechanics - safety checks
This week the Car Mechanics group have been conducting safety checks of vehicles while at B&FC. We have checked the interior and exterior of the cars making notes of all the hazards, including missing bulbs, broken lamps, cracked windscreens and scuffed bodywork.
KS5 Cycling
As part of our P.E sessions a group of KS5 students have been cycling. They showed great resilience when it started raining they chose to carry on cycling rather than go back to college early. Well done KS5.
5J Made Eggy bread
5J worked really well in groups to make eggy bread before tasting it. Thumbs up all round.
Jorja's group even created a new dish 'Scraggy Bread' because the bread fell apart! It still tasted good though.
Lifeskills in the community
5I had a brilliant morning visiting the Community Hall at Watson Park. They helped out by sweeping, mopping and cleaning the room - all skills that they are developing ready for adulthood. Well done 5I!
Dog Training
Three of our students had a brilliant first session training our therapy dog Molly! They learnt how to teach her to sit, lay down, give paw and roll over!
Motor Vehicle group B&FC
This week some of KS5 have continued with their motor vehicle college link course. We have been at B&FC learning about tools and safety in the work shop. Later we learnt how to remove wheels, check tyres, and inflate tyres.
Vegetable Soup
Today 5M have been making a healthy and tasty vegetable soup. We have used vegetables such as Carrott, brocoli, mushroom, celery and tomato, well done 5M!!
Myerscough College
As part of the students external college placements, we will be visiting Myerscough College on a Tuesday.

KS5 College life skills
At colllege today the life skills group have been making sandwiches. They have been buttering bread, spreading jam and cutting the sandwiches into small pieces. The students showed some good resilience in making sure the butter reached the edges of the bread.
Music
In music 5GT have been drumming to a beat . It was quite difficult to keep in time with the beat but students showed good resilience and kept on practicing
