Out in the community
5B have been out in the community. Our aim today was to find out what the local gym to the Oracle offered. We were lucky enough to be given a tour, view some of the activities on offer & take leaflets home.
Resilience
Two of our students showed true resilience this morning when building this tower. No matter how many times it fell down they continued until they met their goal.
New students for dog therapy training.
A new cohort of students have begun their dog therapy training today. Molly was asked to do a range of tricks which included, sitting, paw, follow, lay down & wait.
Elmer coffee morning cakes
To celebrate & raise money for Elmer day 5B have been busy making cakes. They have followed written instructions, weighed out their ingredients, made a range of different cakes, iced them, and washed, dried & put away all the equipment used!
They look yummy.
Photography
As part of our qualification in photography 5B have started to use small world toys to create different scenes. A series of 6 photographs were taken, with characters in different positions to tell a story.
Cricket fielding drills
We have used a whole range of skills today at college. We have learnt how to throw over arm & under arm, how to throw over a large distance, listening to instructions when already in an activity & how to work as a team.
Setting up activities
We were challenged with setting up our own activities in a safe manner today. All students were able to carry out instructions, ask for help if needed & support their peers to create a setting for a table table tournament.
Sixth form dancers
A selection of Sixth Form students have been working hard on their dance performance for the Schools Alive Concert at the Winter Gardens. Here’s a preview of one of our fabulous dancers with their lit up wings.
Out in the community
5B & 5M have been out in the local community. They have completed a litter pick in the local area surrounding the Oracle.
