In our BTEC this week we continued with our designing of a new chocolate bar.

We learnt how chocolate is made and what labels need to contain, such as the name, list of ingredients and weight etc.

We have been building our resilience every week by trying new activities.

This week we built card towers.

They kept getting knocked over so we had to keep restarting and building again and try not to get frustrated.

Anthony built his card tower quite high well done!!

We started off with a music quiz. We learnt about how a rehearsal should go this week at college. We then got to practice our rehearsals and the different instruments involved. 
Mr Shanagher also showed us his musical skills and taught us about the different instruments.

We worked hard in our fitness club this week!

In our sports session this week we did football.

we practiced our shooting then finished with a match.

For children’s in need we had a rewards day, some of us chose to spend time in the gym then Mrs Jackson showed us how to make protein shakes.

We worked hard and the shakes tasted nice!

In home cooking this week we made cakes to sell for children in need tomorrow!

They look delicious 5J well done!!!

In our STEM lesson this week we learnt about fingerprints.

We found out that anything we touch has a copy of our fingerprints and that the police use them to help them solve crimes.

We then used ink and sellotape to take a copy of our own fingerprints.

In photography we looked at depth of field. This is the distance between two objects and where the focus will be on. This allowed us to create some interesting photos using toys and action figures.

We were very lucky to have been invited to Madame Tussaud’s in Blackpool to learn about the job of wax modelling and jobs within the tourism industry.

We were able to ask lots of questions and were shown the studio where they model the waxworks and add the paint and hair etc.

We also learnt…

In our music lessons at college today we learnt about the beat, rhythm and groove of the music.
We then made a PowerPoint with different job roles and information on them, we then finished working on our music tracks on Logic Pro.
