Today in Science, we continued our learning about teeth and digestion by investigating the important job of the tongue.

We learnt that our tongue helps us to taste different foods, move food around our mouth when we are eating, and helps us when we are talking. We discussed how our tongue is an important part of the digestive process.

We then set up an investigation to explore different food textures. We tasted crackers and sweets and used our tongues to help us identify how the foods felt in our mouths. We pointed to either "chewy" or "crunchy" to show what we thought about each food.

We enjoyed comparing our ideas and talking about the different textures we could feel. This investigation helped us understand how our tongue does much more than just help us taste food.
