Maths – Exploring 2D and 3D Shapes!
We have had an exciting start to our new maths topic this half term! The children enjoyed becoming shape detectives during a fun shape-sorting game.
One by one, pupils eagerly reached into a surprise bag to pick out a mystery shape. They then used their observation skills to identify the shape and decide whether it was 2D or 3D.
We followed this with a creative cutting and sticking activity. The children looked carefully at a variety of pictures, searched for the different shapes they could spot and matched them to the correct shape.
It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, sharing their mathematical thinking and developing their confidence with recognising and identifying 2D and 3D shapes. What a fantastic start to our new topic! 🌟
