Our pupils have been having lots of fun developing their maths skills through a simple dice game!

Taking turns, the children rolled a dice, identified the number they had rolled and then moved their counter that many spaces along a number ten strip. When it was their turn again, they carefully counted on from where their counter had landed, helping them to practise addition and develop their understanding of number.

It was lovely to see how patiently everyone waited for their turn and encouraged each other as they played. Some pupils were challenging themselves further by recognising numbers and writing the numbers as words.

Learning through play made this maths activity fun, engaging and full of opportunities to practise important number skills! 🎲🔢
