Over the past few English lessons, our pupils have been busy exploring a range of different stories. They have enjoyed watching, reading and discussing the stories together, thinking carefully about the themes, feelings and emotions explored in each one.

The pupils shared their thoughts and opinions about the characters, including who their favourite character was and, most importantly, why. It was fantastic to hear everyone giving reasons for their choices and listening respectfully to the ideas of others.

The class then held a vote for their favourite story, giving everyone the opportunity to have their say. 🗳️📖

To develop their understanding of the characters further, pupils matched pictures and  words to each character. This helped them to identify the characters and make connections between the characters and the stories they had explored.

It has been wonderful to see the pupils becoming more confident in sharing their ideas, expressing their opinions and talking about stories and characters.
