Counting Our Way to 100! 🔢

This week, our pupils have been getting back into the swing of practising their counting skills using counters. It was wonderful to see them building confidence with numbers while developing their counting and number recognition skills in a fun and practical way.

Some pupils particularly enjoyed a game where they rolled a dice and then collected the correct number of counters. The challenge was to count carefully and work towards making a group of 10 counters. Once they had collected ten, they could exchange their counters for a ten-piece line.

The excitement grew as pupils worked towards filling their hundred square. The aim of the game was to be the first to fill the hundred square, encouraging everyone to count accurately, recognise quantities and think about how numbers are made up of tens and ones.

It was a fantastic way to combine learning, teamwork and a little friendly competition! 🎲➕🔟
