Today, we explored the story of The Three Little Pigs by assessing how much the pupils understood through a fun and interactive picture-matching activity. The children were shown a selection of pictures from different parts of the story and were encouraged to match each picture to the correct scene.

To further develop their comprehension, pupils were asked questions using key words and phrases from the story, such as "wolf blowing down the straw house," "brick house," and "first little pig." The pupils listened carefully to the clues and used their understanding of the story to identify the correct scene.

This activity provided a great opportunity to assess their recall, sequencing skills, and understanding of the main events. Many pupils were able to confidently recognise key moments in the story, while others benefited from the visual prompts and key vocabulary to support their thinking.
