Our new topic is “What are the different religious beliefs about food?” and we spent our first lesson exploring foods and the meaning they have to us! We tasted, described and investigated a range of foods using all of our senses, creating a rich, multi-sensory experience that allowed all pupils to engage with and enjoy! Alongside this, we boosted our identifying and communication skills by matching each food item we explored to a cartoon picture, a real-life picture and the written word - pupils impressed us by using their phonic and letter knowledge to identify the matching written word! It was a fun, practical and engaging way to begin our new topic and we even began to learn how to say some of the foods in French- well done 3H!
