Today, we explored a pumpkin as part of our topic on “all about me”. We sang “Pumpkins Have Wrinkles” (our own version of “Elephants Have Wrinkles”) and focused on the pumpkin’s mouth, eyes, cheeks, and head. We also learnt the Makaton sign for “pumpkin”. Together, we opened up the pumpkin and explored what was inside. The children enjoyed touching, smelling, and mixing the pumpkin’s contents, which included the seeds, stringy guts, soft inside, and a cornflour mixture to make it extra messy and sensory!
