During Forest School, the children explored the outdoor environment through The Gruffalo theme. The children were encouraged to look closely at their surroundings, follow simple instructions and communicate their interests through gestures, symbols, vocalisations or words. They showed curiosity as they investigated different textures and features of the forest, developing their attention, engagement and understanding of the world around them. The session provided opportunities for imaginative play, movement and shared experiences with peers and adults while bringing the story to life in a meaningful, hands-on way.
