The children began to notice similarities and differences as they explored the coloured rice and shaped counters. While playing with the coloured rice, they focused on finding and matching the same colours, carefully looking at each grain and grouping the colours together. When exploring the shaped counters, the children looked closely at the different shapes and began to match counters that were the same. Through these hands-on activities, the children developed their observation, sorting and matching skills, while building their understanding of colour, shape and similarities and differences.
