Our pupils had great fun taking part in an exciting STEM raft-building challenge! Using just lollipop sticks, sellotape and aluminium foil, they were challenged to use their creativity, imagination and fine motor skills to design and construct their very own rafts.

Once the rafts were complete, it was time for the moment of truth — would they float? Pupils carefully placed their creations onto the water and were thrilled to see their rafts successfully floating!

But the challenge didn’t stop there! We then added weight in the form of dice to see how much each raft could withstand before sinking.

The activity was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their problem-solving, creativity and engineering skills while having lots of fun. There were plenty of smiles and excitement as pupils proudly watched their handmade rafts sail across the water! 🌊🛶
