Our First English Lesson

In our first English lesson, we learned about the difference between fiction and non-fiction. Fiction is made-up stories and characters, while non-fiction is based on real people, facts and events.

We then started working on creating our own non-fiction stories. We looked at different characters and thought carefully about how we could describe them using interesting and powerful words.

We practised choosing descriptive words to explain what a character looks like, how they behave and what kind of personality they have. This helped us understand how important descriptive language is when writing.

I really enjoyed our first English lesson because we got to be creative while also learning how to use words effectively. I’m looking forward to continuing our story and developing our writing skills in the next lesson!
