2R had a fantastic Attention Autism session this week all about the life cycle of a caterpillar! The excitement began as everyone watched a wriggly caterpillar being created using an inflated balloon and paint.We then took turns jumping on sensory gel mats, enthusiastically calling out each stage of the life cycle: “Egg, caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly!” The fun reached its peak when we landed on the butterfly mat and a flurry of paper butterflies fluttered down around us!We are becoming very confident at naming the stages of a caterpillar’s life cycle and can’t wait to watch our own caterpillars grow and transform over the coming weeks.
