During the second stage of their kite project, the 3W class began bringing their initial designs to life. Having already created and refined their ideas on paper, pupils worked practically to construct the base structure of their kites using sticks and masking tape. They carefully considered shape, balance and stability as they joined materials together, adapting their designs where needed. This hands-on stage encouraged problem-solving, teamwork and resilience, as students worked collaboratively to strengthen their structures and ensure they were fit for purpose. The activity allowed pupils to translate a 2D design into a 3D model, developing both their practical making skills and their understanding of design and construction processes.
