3H have officially taken off on our new Geography topic of Holidays! We began by working together to help our little paper man travel away from home, following the arrows to reinforce the idea that going on holiday means going somewhere different. The class then showed fantastic excitement and engagement as we embarked on a full sensory adventure all about going on holiday. We tightened the straps on our “luggage,” felt the turbulence as we watched a plane take off, smelt sweet vanilla essence while imagining cool holiday ice cream, and heard and felt the waves splashing around us. As our journey came to an end, a cool breeze from the fan blew across us before we listened to the jangle of keys as we “landed” back on the runway. It was a wonderful morning of learning—using our senses, imagination and brilliant interaction from everyone!
