Today in Art and DT we spent time exploring faces through sensory and hands on experiences. Pupils looked at their own faces using mirrors, and sang songs to help identify simple facial features like eyes, nose, and mouth and hair. We then visited the forest to collect natural materials such as twigs, and flowers to take back to class, where we created faces using these materials, along with playdough and paper features on templates. It was lovely to see pupils engaged creating faces in their own individual way.
