3H had a wonderful time in RE enjoying our very own Iftar as we learnt that Muslims fast during Ramadan and break their fast at sunset with a special meal called Iftar. We used tea lights to help set the scene of a glowing sunset, creating a calm and reflective atmosphere. Pupils explored a range of foods using their senses, including dates, which are an important part of breaking the fast. They came up with fabulous descriptive words to express what they could feel and smell, bringing the experience to life. Everyone enjoyed learning and reading key facts about Ramadan and why Muslims choose to fast during this special month.
