In this week’s photography session, students explored the theme of textures—capturing details in a variety of surfaces and materials both indoors and outdoors. From rough concrete to smooth metal and natural elements like plants and wood, the group focused on using camera settings to highlight visual texture and contrast.

After taking their shots, students also began editing their images, learning how to enhance features like light, shadow, and colour balance. It was a creative and skill-building session that encouraged a fresh perspective on everyday surroundings.

Skills developed included:

  • Using DSLR cameras confidently

  • Exploring and identifying textures in the environment

  • Framing and composition

  • Basic photo editing and enhancement techniques

  • Observation and creative thinking

Excellent work all round. We’re looking forward to seeing the finished images.
