Communication is key!

In 1P we follow a total communication approach which allows our pupils to communicate in the most accessible way to them. Following a total communication approach involves all aspects of communication. Since the first day at school in September pupils have been exposed to all aspects of the total communication approach to support their communication needs. Our lessons always strongly embed opportunities for verbal and non-verbal communication. This can include sign language, facial expression, gesture, use of props or objects, photos, communication boards, signs and symbols, vocalisations and spoken words. We are incredibly proud of the progress our pupils have made with their communication already. Keep up the good work 1P!
