Giant Jenga

3Gr played giant jenga today. This required patience and strategic thinking. It was quite tense towards the end but I think they kept it going for a longer time than expected. Well done!!

Sound bingo

In science 3Gr were learning lots of animal sounds and discovering where different products and items come from. We played a game of sound bingo, where an animal sound was played for them to guess and mark off their sheet.

3D sketching

3Gr have been practicing their free hand sketching using a 3D model of a hand that they could adapt into different poses. Some chose the peace sign while others opted to draw the hand holding an object. Great work!

Laser cutter

3Gr have been working hard to design their own torch. Once they finalised their design they were able to watch it being cut out on the laser. Very fascinating to watch.

In English we have been learning about the story of the Mandarin, his daughter and the servant. 3Gr learnt that this story was shown in pictures that were painted onto a China plate. Some children may find that their family have the same one at home.

Shakespeare actors

Ged and Jack were given the opportunity to take part in the Royal Shakespeare companies interpretation of Romeo and Juliet. Here they are performing for the choir, which was a good dress rehearsal for them.

Today was world religion day and Park Community Academy celebrated this with pupils by taking part in activities throughout the day. Here they showed their sculpting talents, following instructions to make their own Ganesh statue.

Exploring organs

In science 3Gr have continued to develop their understanding of animals and where the meat we eat comes from. This week we focused on sheep, who give us our woolly jumpers and lambs. Some of the class were very interested to learn about the organs and what their function in the body is.
